Ready to GoMo?

Standard

Google this week launched a new initiative to get businesses to test their site in a mobile environment (at a link I’m about to share) and to direct them to vendors who can be helpful in addressing the problem if the results are underwhelming (read: “suck”)

The tool is cleverly titled “GoMo” and you can find it here.

At the same time, Inc. Magazine has published an article titled DIY Tools for Creating Smartphone-Friendly Websites where they discuss a couple of services from DudaMobile and FiddleFly where you can take your designed-for-desktop face and reshape it for the mobile community.

If you don’t think this is important (as one of my clients famously asserted last month), remember that over a third of all internet traffic is on smartphones – and this number will be 50/50 in a few years.
